Due to unprecedented growth of population with rapid urbanization as well as industrialization the entire world specifically developing countries like India is suffering from clean and safe water supply.

Water will becoming one of the most defining issues for next half century. It is a critical issue and the world already started looking for solutions to its aqua problems. India accounts for 16% of world population but only 4% of world fresh water resources. It is estimated that around 37.7 million Indians are affected by waterborne diseases annually and 1.5 million children are estimated to die of diarrhoea alone. 73 million working days are lost due to waterborne disease each year. The resulting economic burden is estimated at $600 million a year. The country demands for more reliable and sustainable supplies of municipal and industrial water.
